In recognition of students who stand out from the crowd, GetSmarter’s\u00a0Notable Achievers<\/i> campaign highlights a top-performing student each week.<\/p>\n

Nokubonga Vusani recently completed studying the University of Cape Town\u00a0Professional Communication and Office Management online short course<\/a><\/strong> and has been chosen as our Notable Achiever for maintaining a high standard throughout the course.<\/p>\n

Her\u00a0Success Manager nominated Nokubonga due to her high performance in spite of her difficult background. Nokubonga was homeless<\/strong> before AfrikaBurn took her in, gave her the job of Office Manager, and sponsored the cost of her\u00a0course. She actively participated on the discussion forum, adding valuable contributions, and completed the course with a grade above the class average.<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to take this course?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

I decided to take the course because I wanted to gain experience that I could use at my workplace, and so that they could see changes in me.<\/p>\n

What is it like learning online with GetSmarter?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Learning online with GetSmarter opens all the doors so that you can study more in future. It gives you opportunities so you know where to go after the course.<\/p>\n

How do you plan to use the skills you learn on this course in your career?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

I will use the skills at my workplace.<\/p>\n

What does it mean to you to earn a UCT certificate?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

To earn an UCT certificate means I can face all the challenges of being an Office Manager at my workplace with pride.<\/p>\n

Will you be hanging it up? If so, where?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

I will hang it in many places in future. But I will hang it at my workplace first.<\/p>\n

What is\u00a0your favourite article on the GetSmarter blog?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Worst Enemy During A Job Interview<\/a> – it is my favourite article because it teaches more about time management and how to prepare yourself in time in order to overcome the nerves. Do not judge a book by its cover. Challenge all your goals in life.<\/p>\n

What has been your favourite module in the course?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Module 9 – Event Organisation. I work in an events company and everything in this module is similar to what we are doing at my workplace.<\/p>\n

If you could study another GetSmarter online short course in the future which one would you choose?<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

UCT Events Management online short course<\/a>. I would love to have more experience in that, especially because our company deals with events most of the time.<\/p>\n
