In recognition of students who stand out from the crowd, GetSmarter’s\u00a0Notable Achievers<\/i> campaign highlights a top-performing student each week.<\/p>\n

Katinka Krugell, a Desktop Publishing (DTP) Operator, is currently\u00a0studying the University of Cape Town\u00a0Digital Marketing online short course<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and has been chosen as our Notable Achiever for maintaining a high standard throughout the course.<\/p>\n

Her Success Manager\u00a0nominated Katinka\u00a0due to her consistent performance on the\u00a0course despite the occurrence of important life events. Katinka\u00a0got married and went on honeymoon<\/strong> during her course, but still managed to maintain a high standard of assignment submissions.<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to take this course?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Our company gave us the opportunity to sign up and I was eager to explore digital marketing, having worked with traditional media for so long.<\/p>\n

What is it like learning online with GetSmarter?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It is wonderful being exposed to a wealth of course material from the comfort of my own home.<\/p>\n

What were your concerns before enrolling on the UCT Digital Marketing course, and how were these alleviated?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I was concerned about being able to navigate my way around the online campus. However, with the help of a detailed orientation module and the support of my Success Manager, Avanti Gajoo, it was a breeze.<\/p>\n

How do you plan to use the skills you learnt on this course in your career?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I am super excited to incorporate everything I have learnt into my current role which is evolving to include digital marketing tactics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What does it mean to you to earn a UCT certificate?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It will add a new level of esteem to my CV.<\/p>\n

Will you be hanging it up?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

No, actually. I would like to let my newly developed skillset do the talking.<\/p>\n

What is one of your favourite articles on the GetSmarter Career Advice blog?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I love the articles on career strategy<\/a>. Learning about the constant changes in the digital marketing landscape reminded me that my career will need to evolve too.<\/p>\n

What was your favourite module in the course?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The designer in me was sold by the time we started Module 2: ‘Web design and development’.<\/p>\n

If you could study another GetSmarter online short course in the future which one would you choose?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I’d like to do the UCT Web Design online short course<\/a> next.<\/p>\n
