As a Course Iterations Project Manager at 2U Cape Town your role will revolve largely around communicating, planning, time management and problem solving. You will work closely with team members from across the organisation including, but not limited to, Learning Experience, Programme Management, Planning, Education Operations, Finance and Academic Staff teams. This person serves as an important connection point between the various project team members working within and in support of the  maintenance of the short course portfolio. You will be responsible for leading our iterations teams to manage deliverables through daily management of timelines, resources, creative problem solving and stakeholder management. This will include leading a number of project meetings, communicating with internal and external stakeholders through a variety of mediums, updating project status reports and project plans and taking part in the general gees! This role works closely with the Iterations Traffic Coordinator, Course Iterations Lead and Presentation Team Lead to ensure that each course iteration is delivered on time, on scope and within budget.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

Project Management

  • Manage detailed daily communication with internal and external project stakeholders. You should be comfortable dealing with senior executives as well as a diverse range of personalities and nationalities.  
  • Lead, manage and motivate our iterations teams as they work to enhance both local and international online education courses.
  • Design project plans and work breakdown structures.
  • Draft and update project documents including budgets, project charters, project plans, communications plans and resource reports.
  • Run DSUs (Daily Stand Ups) and weekly status meetings with project teams in order to measure and track project progress.
  • Creative problem-solving, scenario planning and change management.

Business Process Development and Improvement

  • Contribute to the overall success and growth of the project management team through collaboration, knowledge sharing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members from multiple functions to refine the iterations process. 
  • Document & maintain key project management related documentation as it relates to iterations function.
  • Identify key areas for cross functional process improvement and work to refine these.
  • Collect both qualitative and quantitative data throughout multiple project lifecycles and take a data driven approach to process improvement as it relates to both project management methodology and cross functional process improvement.

Relationship Management

  • Manage deliverables and timelines with the subject matter expert, iterations function and university faculty members to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Work closely with university stakeholders to build strong, collaborative relationships that aid in solidifying our partnerships.

Education and Experience:

  • An undergraduate qualification with minimum 2-3 years work experience - experience in project management is preferred.
  • Good numerical skills as you will be working with budgets.
