The purpose of a content lead is to manage the content writers and oversee the output of all marketing content collateral and ensure that it is of an industry-leading standard, supports the company's marketing goals and adheres to the 2U brand and UP style guides.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
Quality assurance and accountability: Ability to review a range of content creation tasks to ensure it is well-researched, persuasive, SEO-optimised for use in a variety of content formats and across multiple marketing and media channels. All content produced by content team should maintain a level of excellence. The level of quality of each content writer should improve each quarter.
Content creation: Ability to research, write, and edit persuasive, SEO-optimised copy for use in a variety of content formats and across multiple marketing and media channels, in support of business goals and objectives.
Communication: Effective, clear and professional communication with internal and external project stakeholders. Ability to offer constructive and practical feedback to all writers.
Process driven: Ensuring all tasks follow stipulated workflow process. Proactively identifying challenges and implementing solutions to streamline process and improve efficiency.
Leadership and management: Managing the junior, mid and senior writers, taking responsibility for the team's performance, development, growth and work output in a constructive and supportive manner.
Education and Experience:
A formal tertiary qualification in English/Journalism or related fields, backed by 8+ years of working experience.
2+ years people management experience.
Sound communication skills and able to provide constructive feedback to peers and present in a team environment. The Content Leas should also be receptive to feedback from peers and key stakeholders.
A team player who is able to collaborate well with internal and external colleagues.
