Responsibilities

  • Oversee and produce conceptual designs and solutions across for a variety of channels and platforms in keeping with the company and university partners’ visual style guides.
  • Contribute to innovation within the department, as well as guide their direct reports in their respective skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments and the Creative team to understand project needs and ensure output of the highest quality.
  • Mentor and lead designers.
  • Assist Manager with process strategies and principles for design that meet the requirements of the team as a whole.
  • To oversee the creation of all assigned collateral within the team, ensuring quality and timeous delivery.
  • Share design trends and new technologies with the wider team.
  • Direct and define distinctive marketing visual style guides for collateral for university partners that speak to the overarching brand marketing style.
  • Assist the Design Manager with the recruitment of top tier candidates and the onboarding of new hires.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the company at all times and ensure the brand’s integrity and consistency is always maintained.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 8+ years working experience in a design-related field.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • Industry-leading portfolio, showcasing strong relevant work.
  • Relevant referees in both design and management.
  • Technical knowledge and computer literacy essential: Adobe CC, Sketch, Invision, a good understanding of HTML and CSS.

Competencies

  • Ability to collaborate closely with Project Managers, Developers, Copywriters, UX Designers, Motion Designers and Media teams.
  • Experience working with and producing wireframes, user flows, prototypes, design systems and interactive design.
  • Strong understanding of content creation for different digital channels.
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive change in a fast-paced work environment.
