The Communications & Engagement Coordinator will use digital tools to drive employee engagement and internal experience. To be effective, you must be skilled at building relationships, know how to tell stories that make lofty concepts come to life, and be able to organise and prioritise your workload in order to meet competing deadlines. 

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

System Communications

  • Act as a publisher and content manager on company intranet (2Universe) 

  • Support digital signage process and content creation

  • Support the development of internal presentations for company meetings and other assignments and events, actively collaborating with other groups within the department and across the company, as appropriate. 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies in the department’s support of internal stakeholders

  • Work with communications team to maintain and update internal content calendar

  • Sli.do setup and support for AMAs

Stakeholder and Employee Engagement

  • Act as 2U brand ambassador

  • Develop relationships with CT2Utes and fellow communication team members and be a good team player 

  • Acts as main guest liaison for visitors to WQ campus

  • Manage telephone calls to central line when front desk team are not available or lines are busy

  • Service and resolve ad-hoc requests from CT team members, help to problem solve, and be the face of the 2U brand internally

  • Execute on setup of birthday and newbie arrival celebration packs.

Events, logistics and project support

  • Support with set up and execution of internal meetings and events, ordering activation supplies, event admin and task tracking and more

  • Monitor and manage requests sent to the communications and intranet mailboxes, routing feedback as appropriate to assigned stakeholders 

  • Administrative support on communications projects 

  • Other duties as assigned

Editorial support

  • Draft, edit and proof emails, slide content, talking points and other communications copy

  • Conduct information gathering to support copy drafting

Education and Experience:

  • A relevant diploma/degree in communications, journalism or a related field

  • 1-3 years of work experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and project management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated experience exercising sound judgment

  • Proactive approach, seeking out challenges and anticipating issues

  • Experience with Igloo is advantageous

Working Conditions 

Availability to work overtime and outside of normal South African working hours may be required.
