The financial sector has long been defined by strict regulations and traditional processes. Yet, despite the barriers to entry, a growing number of firms are migrating toward blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi), which are revealing themselves to be reliable, efficient ways for financial institutions to carry out daily operations.
The Rotman Blockchain and Decentralized Finance online program from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto examines which traditional financial services these financial technologies are set to offer the most benefits. You’ll also explore opportunities and assess the potential risks of managing and integrating blockchain into your business.
This program consists of six weekly modules, covering fintech topics such as crypto-wallets, digital money and stablecoins, and oracles. Over the course of the program, you’ll also learn to navigate the modern finance landscape and transition from traditional to future-focused financial systems.

Business owners and entrepreneurs who are wanting to launch ventures in the decentralized finance space will also benefit. Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with a certificate, you’ll need to meet the requirements outlined in the program handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the program.
