The modern workplace has evolved rapidly, creating a need for organisations worldwide to upskill and reskill their employees. Learning opportunities that cater to the specific needs of businesses are now in high demand, as are those with the skills to create and implement engaging learning material.
The University of Cape Town (UCT) offers an Instructional Design online short course that equips you with the tools to create effective learning experiences and embrace your role as an agent of change. With a focus on African and emerging-market contexts, gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of instructional design, including content curation and learning management systems. The course also explores how incentivisation tactics, particularly gamification, can be used to achieve learning goals. You'll build a portfolio of transformative instructional design work that applies directly to your current context and learn about the links between instructional design and organisational goals.

About the certificate
Acquire a comprehensive understanding of instructional design and earn an official certificate of completion from the University of Cape Town.
Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with a digital certificate, you’ll need to meet the requirements outlined in the course handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the course.

You can pay your course fees before the course starts, or you may opt for a split payment plan on courses that are nine weeks and shorter. For courses 10 weeks and longer, there is a three-part payment plan available. Manage your time

The course work is broken up into weekly, manageable bite-sized modules, with incremental deadlines, designed to help you pace yourself over the duration of the course and allow you the legroom to work when it suits you best.

How to change your start date
