Do you want to gain technical business skills to excel in your career?
In the video below, Brett Hamilton – Head Tutor on the MBA Essentials online short course – explains why you should study an MBA CORe, what you will gain from the course, and the material you can expect to cover over the 16-week learning journey.
Brett describes the value of the three course topics in both preparing towards an MBA and navigating the complexities of the business environment – helping you stand out from the crowd as an MBA applicant or business professional.
Hello and welcome. I’m Brett Hamilton and as the Head Tutor of the MBA CORe online short course, I will be your guide over the following 16 weeks of learning.
The MBA CORe online short course with GetSmarter gives the student a firm base in three subjects: economics, quantitative methods, and accounting.
To be successful in business, you cannot just know one thing. You need to be aware of the complexity of the business environment, have knowledge of multiple subject matters, and manage for change and uncertainty.
By the end of this course, you will be able to see the value in these subjects, in allowing you to make better managerial decisions within your business.
On the MBA, students often find these subjects challenging. So the MBA CORe serves as a way for you to better prepare for the MBA, thus giving you a firm base from which to tackle this highly demanding Master’s programme.
I will endeavour to make your journey as practical and useful as possible. During this course, you’ll gain insight into how individuals make decisions within complex environments, as well as develop insights into broader topics such as economic growth, development, unemployment, and inflation.
You will be able to better understand the financial performance of your business, and by way of analysis, identify areas for improvement.
This course will give you the ability and confidence to stand out from the crowd.
