Introduction

According to the 2017 budget speech: a new 45% tax bracket is being introduced for those earning more than R1.5 million a year; government expenditure is being cut by R10 billion in the 2017/18 financial year and money is being shifted from underperforming departmental programmes to those that do perform.1

What does this mean for you, your employer, your clients, or your business?

In just 8 weeks, you can expect to learn about the various types of tax, including income tax and capital gains tax; your legal rights and requirements as a taxpayer; how the VAT process works; how to deal with tax disputes; how different business entities are treated in terms of tax; and how to demystify the world of tax administration.
