Economist Education’s online course, Professional Communication: Business Writing and Storytelling, equips professionals with the tools to write impactfully for any audience. Over six weeks you will delve into the art and purpose of writing and storytelling, enabling them to communicate confidently with partners, customers and colleagues.
This course provides “tools not rules” for better writing, giving you practical skills in constructing coherent sentences, paragraphs and documents. It will guide you to use vivid language, punctuate effectively and structure your writing for impact and clarity.
As you work through videos, written notes and interactive exercises, you will learn best practices for sourcing information accurately and supporting your writing with strong data visualisations. You will also gain insights into collaborative editing techniques, empowering you to work successfully with others to refine your writing skills.
Drawing on guidance from some of The Economist’s best writers and editors, this course encourages participants to take a self-reflective approach to business writing and storytelling. With skills learnt on this course, you will be able to communicate powerfully, in line with The Economist’s reputation for eloquence and brevity.
