The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) hosted its inaugural online certificate course alumni networking event and lecture in October, 2018. The event gave past participants the opportunity to network with their fellow online classmates at the LSE campus in London. Past, current, and future students also experienced a campus tour and a lecture from leading LSE academic, Professor Michael Cox.
The lecture, “Beyond Globalisation? The crisis of the Liberal Order”, was paired with a Q&A and followed by an official networking reception. Professor Michael Cox is the Director of LSE IDEAS, an Emeritus Professor of International Relations at LSE, and is a Co-designer of the LSE Business, International Relations and the Political Economy online certificate course. In a 2017 international survey, IDEAS was ranked second in the world amongst the best university-affiliated Think Tanks,1 further establishing the prominence of the School and its academic staff. The event offered international professionals and business leaders an exciting platform to facilitate future collaboration.
Studying online with LSE, students have the potential to build a global business network with their peers from around the world. The event saw that network, consisting of students from various LSE courses, all coming together in-person on campus.
