Gain an in-depth understanding of U.S. privacy laws with the Privacy Law and Data Protection online short course from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Over six weeks you will investigate privacy and data legislation in order to better protect data, mitigate risks and remain compliant.

Exploring the differences between private and public data, you will gain a thorough understanding of the laws associated with each. You will also investigate medical privacy laws, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to determine their effect on privacy regulations in business. By the end of the course you will have designed a privacy law road map that can be used in your organization to help create better privacy policies.

Earn a certificate from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law

Examine the impact of privacy law and legislation on business, and earn an official certificate of completion from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with a certificate, you will need to meet the requirements outlined in the course handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the course.

Your certificate will be issued in your legal name and sent to you upon successful completion of the course, as per the stipulated requirements.
