In the last four years, venture capital investment in fintech has increased more than 600%.*

With billions of dollars flowing into the industry, fintech is positioned to disrupt major business models across several financial services and functions, including, but not limited to: banking, insurance, money transfer and payments, market provisioning, investment management, deposits and lending, as well as capital raising.

This certificate course from MIT, presented entirely online and part-time, is designed to demystify the disruption by enabling students to understand, experience and build the future of transactions and commerce.

  • Course Module 9: Capstone project - Market forecasting, financial modeling and unit economics*
  • Course Module 10: Consolidating your capstone project
  • Course Module 11: Future directions
  • Course Module 12: Wrap up and awards

*Over the course of Modules 7, 8 and 9 in this short course, students will follow one of two unique learning paths. These learning paths will be based on the type of capstone project that groups are working on, namely crafting an innovation roadmap or writing a business plan.

This financial management course starts with an Orientation period of 10 days to give students a chance to familiarise themselves with the course structure and requirements, explore the Online Campus, and meet peers on the class discussion forum. After Orientation, 12 academic content modules are released weekly every Wednesday.

You can pay your tuition fees in full before the course starts.

You may opt for a two-part payment plan for courses shorter than 9 weeks. You’ll be able to pay your fees in two parts, spread over the duration of your course.

Three-part payment for courses 9 weeks or longer. You’ll be able to pay your fees in three parts, spread over the duration of your course.
